Feathered Chinese Bang Custom Royal Blue Coloring

  • Jan 24, 2018
  • 2 min read

When I created this wig I learned a lot and I will share my trial and era moments with the world current and future stylist.

I also filmed the process of me making this wig. but i have not gotten the video edited so i decided to put my right skills to the test.

To begin with, this will be a double process application. lighten the hair to about a level 8 or above using Clairol Kaleidocolor Blue with 50 volume developer let the hair sit for about 40 minutes. Rinse the hair thoroughly and apply neutralizing shampoo to stop the processing. To get rid of those brassy tones shampoo the hair with shimmer lights purple shampoo.

Next step, apply Splat® Rebellious Colors Complete Hair Color Kit in Midnight Indigo. Allow the hair to process 20 minutes then apply some OGX coconut conditioner with the color still on the hair. Let the hair sit for another 20 minutes and rinse the hair thoroughly then let it air dry.

Tools:

  • Hair of course :)

  • Wig Cap

  • Canvas head

  • Tripod stand

  • T pins

  • Shears

  • Glue Gun & Glue Sticks

  • Flat Iron (I have Babyliss Pro brand)

  • Brazilian Keratin Therapy Flat Iron Spray

  • Luster Pink Glosser

  • Garnier® Fructis® Style Sleek & Shine Hairspray

  • White chalk or white eye liner

Step 1:

Braid your natural hair in cornrows as neat as possible so the cap can lay flat on the head.

Step 2:

Place the wig cap on your head use your White chalk or white eye liner and mark you the beginning of your parietal ridge on each side and also mark the fringe area because the top of your fringe area will be where you will place your closing piece. the lines will determine when and where you will start gluing your bang hair

Step 3:

Place the canvas head on your tripod then put the wig cap on your the canvas head be careful not to smudge or remove the marking on the cap. Plug-in the glue gun allow the glue to warm up for a few minutes

Step 4:

Glue the tracks following the head shape in a circle. Close the circle using the closure piece.

Step 5:

Cut the hair in a blunt style with zero elevation. Then cut the bang to fit your face. Point cut the bang to add layers.

Step 6:

Plug up your flat iron allow it to heat up.

Step 7:

As the flat iron is heating up. Spray the hair with Brazilian Keratin Therapy Flat Iron Spray, Luster Pink Glosser, & Garnier® Fructis® Style Sleek & Shine Hairspray. Comb product through hair.

Step 8:

Begin to flat iron, press the bang last.

Step 9:

For the bang curl the hair in the opposite direction of the way you want your feathers to flow. Use a wide tooth comb to comb the burls in the direction you want the layers to fall.

Step 10:

Beat your face to the Godz and put your wig on honey.
